Our Created Moon: Earth's fascinating Neighbor By Dan DeYoung and John Whitecomb is an impressive new full color, fully illustrated science text book for children. The illustrations and photographs contained in this book makes exploration of the moon entertaining as well as educational for any young reader. This book is one of many new emerging books in the science genre of books for young readers which is sure to appeal to any reader with an interest in space exploration or atronomy. This book includes almost everything you would want to learn about the moon including: physical descriptions and geography of the moon, the moon in historu and literature and astronomy facts. Also included are activities and a flip book of the moon's phases. There is also an appendix and hands on activities/ experiment ideas.
What makes this book different from other science books is that it is written from a biblical perspective and not a secular point of view. For example, the assumption of the writers of this book is that biblical creation is considered to be factual. Also the moon and its place in biblical scripture is also covered as well. This book shows that science and biblical fact need not conflict with one another. This unique book is a great addition to the science and astronomy books already on the market for young readers. As a blogger for New Leaf press, I recieved this book, published by Master Books for the purpose of writing this review. The opinions expressed in this review are my own.
