31 Days of Power: Learning to Live in Spiritual Victory by Ruth Myers with Warren Myers, is a pocket sized devotional book based on the application of scripture to one's personal life. Each day has its own motivational theme followed by short passages inspired by specific scripture, The actual references to the bible are included so that the reader may look up nthe specifc verse. Included are some lines of empty space to allow for writing down notes or for personal reflection. If one actually were serious about starting a journal based on what he/she read from this devotional book, then a seperate notebook would be more appropriate as the lines provided are not sufficient for a serious amount of personal journaling.
This book is a great resource if you are in need of quick inspiration. The biblical verses cited aren't recorded word for word, but paraphrased into a prayer styled format. The passages as well as the biblical verses by which they are based are relevant to everyday life and are sure to inspire and empower the reader. In my opinion, the only downside is that the biblical passages are not cited word for word but rather are simplified within a paraphase of commentary. Nevertheless for some readers, this may make the passages and messages easier to understand.
Overall I believe this is a great book for anyone. For those who take this book seriously and who take the time to reflect and meditate on its message, this is certain to be a life changing book. As a blogger for Multnomah publishers I recieved this book for the purposes of writing a review and the opinions expressed are my own.
