Don't Waste the Pain by David Lyons and Linda Lyons Richardson
Don't Waste the Pain: Learning to Grow Through Suffering by David Lyons and Linda Lyons Richardson is an inspirational book created as a result of the journaling of brother and sister, David and Linda, and their experiences with pain and torments of cancer on their families. David's 12 year old son, Ian, is diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer, which ultimatly takes his life a year later at age 13. Linda is diagnosed with cancer, and is successfully fighting a life long up and downhill battle with cancer. Through their journal entries, insights and some photgraphs, the reader can get a glimpse into the pain and resulting faith of these two families in the face of the greatest pain and suffering that one can experience. God does not always give us the answers we want, but nevetheless in the fact of pain and trials we can always be assured it is for the greater, eternal purpose, and that there is more to life than this limited temporary life on earth. For anyone going through a difficult time, this book will be inspirational as it also draws on scripture to back up the faith of these two heroic familes. What a unique perspective, to see the pain and trials of life as something to be used for a greater purpose and not wasted! As a blogger for Napress I recieved a copy of this book for the purpose of writing this review.
